THE CITY OF ALTAMONTE SPRINGS

Positioned in the geographic heart of Central Florida, Altamonte Springs provides a solid base of 
personnel and support services with the convenience of a location that virtually eliminates the daily challenge of commuting to work.                                    

Altamonte Springs boasts a dynamic mix of fine retail establishments, hotels, upscale offices, commercial space, abundant restaurants, and housing in all price ranges.  In addition to single-family and multi-family homes nestled in lakeside and tree-shaded communities, Altamonte Springs is located in one of the more affluent areas of Central Florida.

In 2005, the City did a comparative economic study of the major activity centers in the area. The study found that Uptown Altamonte served the largest number of households, more than any of the competing activity centers in the study.

The City´s current population for 2009-2010 is 43,243.

Residential Demographics:   

As of 2007, The City of Altamonte Springs has 65 residential subdivisions and 89 residential multi family complexes.  Altamonte Springs is physically divided Into four groups of neighborhoods.  There are two traffic barriers which divide the four neighborhood groups, the barriers are S.R. 436 and Interstate Highway 1-4. The City identifies the four groups as follows:  The northeast section, northwest section, southeast section and southwest section.  Each section divided by the two barriers, S.R. 436 and Interstate Highway I-4.
